Upcoming Virtual Performance March 30th – Indigenous/Native artists with Performance Primers

Hello Relatives,   The Marin American Indian Alliance is an honored guest of this performance below.  We hope you can attend!

The Performance Primers are producing a free virtual show on March 30th at 8 pm PST, featuring a lineup of all indigenous/Native artists in the Bay Area. The featured artists include: Faun Harjo, Aambr Newsome, Amelia & Amanda Vigil, and Kanyon Coyote Woman Sayers-Roods. We are super excited to present their work, with production support from Crowded Fire Theater on their Twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/crowdedfiretheater) and we have been planning this show in consultation with Javier Stell-Fresquez. The show will be followed by a live Q&A session with the artists about their work.

Kanyon Sayers-Roods (who is Costanoan Ohlone-Mutsun and Chumash) will do the land acknowledgement at the start of the show, followed by a conversation about what land acknowledgements are, why they are important, and how viewers can provide direct support to indigenous communities in the Bay Area. Marin American Indian Alliance will be mentioned here.   About Performance Primers: an Oakland-based collective devoted to producing and supporting the work of low-income emerging artists, primarily queer, trans, disabled and women artists of color based in the Bay Area.
